WHY BEEF TALLOW
Beef tallow is rendered beef fat. It was the standard frying fat for chips and fries for generations, and it's the only fat in the Chippys kettle.
Why we fry in it
- Crunch. Tallow fries potatoes into a hearty, crisp chip with golden edges.
- Flavor. It adds a rich, savory taste that a neutral oil doesn't.
- Heat. Tallow has a high smoke point, so it holds up well at kettle-frying temperatures.
- Simple ingredients. With tallow, potatoes and sea salt, that's the whole list. No seed oils.
Why grass-fed
Our tallow comes from 100% grass-fed cattle. We use it and nothing else in the kettle.
